Affirmations and positive self talk along with visualizing are powerful ways to program your mind for success. Affirmations are typically written statements affirming who you want to be or have, stated in the present tense: "I am...", "I have...". Positive self talk is taking these affirmations into the action stage by being consciously aware and intentionally choosing to think thoughts that describe your lifestyle as it will be when you have achieved your goals.

 

 


Action


 

Create positive affirmations pertaining to your focused goal that you recite daily to program your conscious and subconscious mind toward success. Follow this formula from "Success is Not an Accident".

 

 


The P.E.P.P. Formula


 

Positively Phrased

  • I am choosing healthy foods everyday.

  • Not, I am not eating fattening foods any more.  

 

Emotion Provoking

  • Use feeling words such as easily, joyfully, effortlessly, boldly.

  • Use words that are fun and passionate.

 

Present Tense

  • The subconscious mind does not understand past or future only the here and now.

  • You must affirm your goals as if they are already attained.

  • "I have...", "I am...", "I always...".  

Personal

  • It is alright to use generic affirmation at the beginning, but the more personal you can make your positive self talk the quicker you will see results.
