Discover Your Life Purpose
Are you searching for your life purpose?
So often we hear about people who have experienced some tragedy, loss or significant life change that they have turned into their life purpose. Mothers Against Drunk Driving was created this way and John Walsh of Americas Most Wanted became the host of that show because of the loss of his son.
Other people have lost a large amount of weight or have gotten into great shape and have made it their life purpose to show and tell others about how they succeeded.
These experiences make people stronger and give them a focus and a direction for their lives. But what happens to the rest of us who have not experienced some major life altering situation. How do you define or identify you life purpose?
Create your own life purpose. Decide what it is that will give meaning and purpose to your life instead of waiting for some life altering situation to happen to you.
A little searching and some pointed questioning with yourself should bring some clarity around the life purpose that you are searching for. If you would like to add meaning and passion to your life in this new year, take time to do the action challenge and answer the questions. You may just surprise yourself and
find you life purpose is just a question away.
Action Challenge
Find some quiet time to be alone and answer the following questions. You can do this process over several days.
What do you love to do?
What are your natural gifts?
What has been your unique contribution so far?
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life?
What are the most important lessons that you have learned so far?
If you could solve a world problem, what would it be?
Is there a cause that you feel passionate about?
What do you daydream about doing?
What do you want to be remembered for when you have passed on?
What would your life on purpose look like?
After you have answers these questions, see if you can identify any themes or recurring patterns of thought.
Create several statements that sum up what you would like your life purpose to be. Choose the statement that creates the most positive emotional charge for you and you know deep within you that you have identified what is truly meaning for you to do in this lifetime.
Examples:
My life purpose is to bring love and joy into every situation.
My life purpose is to help those who are less fortunate.
If you have trouble identifying your life purpose, I would
be happy to help you with the process. Just give me a call or
send me an e-mail.
