Self Love


Human beings crave love and affection. We like to be  acknowledged and appreciated. What would happen if you decided to treat yourself the way you want others
to treat you?

Self love is about honoring and appreciating who you are and what you have to offer that is unique and special. Self love is about making yourself a priority in your life. Self love is about treating yourself well. Are you the number one person in your life or are you well down the list after the kids, spouse, family?

If you don’t love yourself enough to make You a priority, you don’t have enough energy to show up fully
for others. If you give and give to others in order to getyour need for love and affection met, you often end up feeling tired, drained and out of sorts and also feeling
unloved and unappreciated.

What are you doing that reflects your love of self?

Do you take time to exercise and eat right?
Do you take 30 to 60 minutes of personal time each day
to do the things that you enjoy? Hobby, sport, craft.
Do you take time for vacations and weekend getaways?
Do you regularly acknowledge and appreciate yourself even if others do not?
Do you talk about your successes?
Are you able to say no when you have enough on your
plate?
Do you dump energy vampires that bring you down and
suffocate you?
Can you walk away from people who drain your energy
with their gossip, negativity and doom and gloom?

If you don’t love, honor and appreciate yourself, how can you expect others to love, honor and appreciate you? You do teach others by your example.

And, who better to show your love and appreciation to than the one you spend all your time with.

Action Challenge

Make a list of the ways that you already demonstrate self love.
Fill in these statements:
I honor myself by...
I take care of myself by...
I appreciate myself for....
I am a magnificent person because...

If you struggled with the exercise, how can you make
yourself a priority and demonstrate more self love this week?

Take action this week and make one or two changes.
